They are well past there best but still very useful kennels they are south facing and slope off well which makes hosing them out is easy and they dry quickly. There are 3 in total and i would think they could easily accommodate 8 dogs in each maybe more.

Inside they have a large bench at one side which is supported by chains so ...

im very drawn to cocker spaniels as a breed to work alongside my shortwinged hawks. the unexpected flush and slip is just "adrenaline falconry" i put an awful lot of thought into dogs in general as im obsessed with terriers and lurchers!!! for the record my beau ideal will consist of a little golden cocker bitch!!!!

could anyone expand on the differences between cockers and springers as a working breed.

all the best

armed with my enthusiasm from the weekend i have decided to try and improve my dogs. Bonny has a mind of her own and wont come till she wants, so i have started to use the long line on her, this means she can run off lots of steam but i can get her back. I am using the whistle as her signal to come and making lots of fuss of her when she does come, before she would dash off as soon as i touched her but she has greatly improved since i stared with the long line, i not going to let her loose ...

altough there reconized as a herding dog, my friend says they make exellent hunting dogs.

i have been poundering about getting a beauceron as it would make a nice sleddog in the winter and hunting in the fallowing seasons.

have any of you worked with these dogs?, had any experience??

anyways if i do get one i will need to socailize it with my sibes as they like to eat other dogs (very possesive) and my leader who is the alpha over the sibes.

any ideas on socailizing tips??

Alright guys i'd thought id tell you all that im madly into running dogs, It's where my passion for feild sports started, and now still belong, there's nothing like it, you have to be as quiet and as un-noticable to your prey as possible, then you have to remember not to be too keen on the lamp, only keep it on for the amount of time you need, otherwise the rabbits become weary. I also use a red filter on my lamp alot of the time as rabbits generally cannot see the red light.

I was just reading an interesting article in shooting times about labradoodles and how they are already starting to be an useful addition to the working breeds. Being not only attractive to look at but inheriting working abilities from both their parents (poodles originally were bred as excellent waterdogs) Kennel club may recognise them in the future as a new breed

Cross breeds are renowned for having hybred vigour making them stronger than pedigree dogs

Lurchers are the other obvious ...
